We’ve also made the neoprene (we don’t use rubber like the others!) mat very easy to replace …. for when that time eventually comes. We’ve done that with another XTREX exclusive feature … “peel and stick” *VELCRO™ .
Previously, replacing the mat was a time consuming, tedious, critical and frustrating experience and may even involve sending the press back! The down-time involved can be costly both in business and emotional terms.
The new *VELCRO™ system makes the whole experience almost painless… a simple case of peeling off the old mat, locating the new mat in position and press down to attach!
The Ultra Flat Seal design is not just a simple cosmetic exercise but is actually an engineering innovation to remove undue stresses being placed on the neoprene mat and therefore we actually expect a noticeable increase in mat life! Once again, good for you and your bottom line!
The problem with the old designs used by our competitors is that stress forms in the mat when it is creased, folded, rolled over, continually flexed or stretched in the same spot or line… such as where the mat is attached to vacuum press frame. In that situation it is a very common for the mat to crack and split causing leaks and rendering the press useless. As you can see by designing our flat seal and attaching it so, we expect to kill two birds with one stone!
